There is no such thing as a silencer for a crossbow. Or is there? Parker Crossbows has come up with something that’s very close to being a crossbow silencer, and you can see it demonstrated in this video. Their string suppressors fit each of their crossbow models.
The suppressors reduce vibration and residual noise. “Without a string suppressor,” says the narrator, “a crossbow is inherently noisy.” That’s not only bothersome for your ears, but it gives whatever pray you’re hunting a loud warning to get out of the neighborhood.
This is an official video from Parker, so we get the information first hand from an expert. We’re told what the effects of vibration can be when you’re shooting a high velocity crossbow. The string suppressor is designed to fit onto all of Parker’s existing crossbows. It comes factory installed on their new Concorde Self Cocking Crossbow and the Cyclone Extreme, and is available as an accessory for Parker’s Hornet, Tornado, Enforcer, Bushwacker and Panther series. As we see in the video, the string suppressor kit is very quick and easy to install.
Parker String Suppressor Kits include 2 Custom riser mounts, 2 Hex screws, 2 Washers, 2 Rods and 2 Ultra Soft string bumpers. Easy. Shhhh.
